The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that inflation in Pakistan will rise to 8.4% during fiscal year 2026-27, exceeding both the government's target and the average recorded in the previous fiscal year.
The projection was made in the IMF's latest country report on Pakistan, which forecasts that inflation will moderate over the following four fiscal years after the current year.
The report also estimates that Pakistan will maintain single-digit average inflation for the next five consecutive fiscal years.
According to the IMF, average inflation remained in the single digits during the past two fiscal years.
