KARACHI:

Sindh is steadily transforming into a gateway for economic growth and investment owing to the provincial government's effective policies, development initiatives, and investor-friendly measures, said Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday.

In a statement, the provincial minister for information, transport and mass transit said that ongoing and proposed mega projects would lay a strong foundation for modern infrastructure, ushering in a new era of employment, industrial growth, trade, and public facilitation.

He added that sustained efforts by the Sindh government were rapidly steering the province towards becoming a modern, prosperous, and investment-friendly hub. "Transparent governance, progressive policies, one-window facilitation, and a conducive environment have helped restore the confidence of both domestic and foreign investors," he said.

Sharjeel said the government was taking practical steps to strengthen the provincial economy, enhance exports, and promote industrial activity. He highlighted key initiatives including the S-III sewerage project, Dhabeji Special Economic Zone, S-BOSS, and a modern smart surveillance system, terming them critical to boosting development and attracting investment.

He further said the Sindh government was working on a comprehensive development package exceeding Rs100 billion for Karachi, aimed at upgrading roads, bridges, water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, and other urban infrastructure along modern lines.

"These initiatives will not only benefit Karachi but also extend modern civic facilities to other major cities of Sindh, significantly improving urban living standards," he said.
