Delayed salaries deepen TMA crisis

Municipal employees across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are grappling with a severe financial crisis as the Local Government Department has failed to release timely salaries and pensions to Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) staff.

According to the employees, the chronic delay in fund releases has become a monthly ordeal, pushing many families toward hardship. They accuse the department of complete failure in establishing a permanent, organized, and secure accounting system for the disbursement of salaries and pensions.

"Thousands of municipal workers, including sweepers and pensioners, have been deprived of their legitimate and legal dues due to blocked accounts," the employees said.
