RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered cases against two landlords and several foreign nationals in the Rawat police precinct for violating the Tenancy Act.

According to police, an FIR lodged by Sub-Inspector Mazhar Abbas stated that police were verifying tenant records in a private housing society when they inspected the house of Sagheeruddin. The owner informed police that foreign women were living on the ground floor. Through a lady constable, one resident was identified as Zhaq Li. It was found that they had been residing there for one and a half years, but neither the landlord nor the tenants had registered their details or informed police through the online system.

In another case registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Naveed Ahmed, police said they reached the house of Malik Amir Pervez during checking. Mohammad Tanveer and a woman came out of the house. Tanveer said he belonged to Mianwali, while the woman identified herself as Tharusarawati from Nepal.

She further told police that foreign nationals identified as Guoshijte, Qurong, Hung Hongboo and Liu Rongsheng were also residing there.

Tanveer told police that the house belonged to Malik Amir Pervez, that he himself was a tenant, and that the owner had rented part of the house to the foreign nationals.

Neither the foreign residents nor the landlord had registered the required details with police.
