An Iranian airline's special flight had not received permission to land in Pakistan by the time of reporting, preventing the aircraft from departing Tehran as scheduled.

According to sources, the Iranian airline's aircraft was scheduled to arrive at Lahore Airport earlier on Wednesday. However, because Pakistani authorities had not yet granted landing clearance, the flight was unable to take off from Tehran.

Airport sources said the flight is not a regular commercial service but a special extra flight, which requires prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the foreign minister before it can operate. They said the Iranian government has already sent the required request to Pakistani authorities.

According to airport sources, the flight will be allowed to depart from Tehran and land at Lahore Airport as soon as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants the necessary clearance.

Officials reiterated that special flights of this nature require formal approval from the Foreign Office before landing permission can be issued.
