3-year-old tests HIV-positive
A three-year-old child from Pathan Colony has tested positive for HIV, with the parents alleging that the infection resulted from medical negligence during treatment at a private hospital.
According to reports, the child's HIV infection was confirmed through tests conducted using three different testing kits, all of which returned positive results.
The parents said their son had received treatment at Walika Hospital, after which his health continued to deteriorate. They said an HIV test was later conducted, which confirmed the infection.
The family has alleged that the child contracted HIV due to negligence by doctors at Walika Hospital. However, neither the hospital administration nor the relevant authorities have officially confirmed or rejected the allegation.
Meanwhile, according to sources, the number of HIV-positive children in Pathan Colony has reached 107, while nine children have died from the disease.
