MGM+ has confirmed that From will conclude with a fifth and final season, bringing the hit horror mystery series to its planned ending after the dramatic events of the Season 4 finale.
Production on Season 5 is expected to begin later this year in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with the final season scheduled to premiere in 2027.
The series remains the most-watched show in MGM+ history.
Creators John Griffin, Jeff Pinkner and Jack Bender confirmed work on the concluding season had already begun.
In a joint statement, they said, “We are wildly excited to announce that we’ve officially begun work on Season 5. Which means we will get the chance to see our story to its conclusion. Which means questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in between.”
The Season 4 finale significantly reshaped the story heading into its final chapter.
Jade and Tabitha became trapped beneath the Bottle Tree after recovering mysterious bones, while Mari and Elgin were both killed during separate encounters. Fatima completed her transformation into one of the Creatures to help Boyd, Jade and Tabitha escape, Victor survived a confrontation with his father Henry, and Sophia stole every protective talisman before throwing them into the Farway Tree after an encounter with the Boy in White, leaving Fromville more vulnerable than ever.
The series follows the residents of a mysterious town from which nobody can escape, where deadly Creatures emerge after dark and increasingly strange supernatural forces continue to test the survivors.
Across four seasons, the mystery has expanded to include the Man in the Yellow Suit, the Boy in White, teleportation, talismans and hidden connections between several characters.
Speaking previously to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer and director Jack Bender said the ending had long been planned. “We set so much into motion in season one. A lot of seasons four and five are continuing those things we set up, many of which are obvious to the audience, and some of which is not. There are a lot of inevitabilities coming into season five. Our challenge is making sure we tell those stories in the best way we know how.”
Season 5 will feature the return of Harold Perrineau alongside Catalina Sandino Moreno, David Alpay and the ensemble cast as the long-running mystery moves towards its conclusion.
