Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the price of Grand Theft Auto VI, ending months of speculation about the cost of one of the most anticipated video game releases in recent years.

GTA 6 will reportedly launch at $79.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, representing a $10 increase over the $69.99 standard price that has become common for major current-generation titles. Rockstar has also announced an Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99.

The publisher confirmed that the game will feature a “single-player experience” at launch. However, no details have been provided regarding a new version of GTA Online, suggesting that the existing online service may continue operating alongside the release of GTA 6 later this year.

The pricing announcement follows widespread industry discussion about whether Rockstar would break new ground by charging up to $100 for the standard edition.

While the final price falls below those predictions, analysts have suggested the move could influence pricing strategies across the wider gaming industry.

Pre-orders for GTA 6 are scheduled to begin at midnight local time on June 25. Rockstar has also revealed details of pre-order bonuses and the contents of the Ultimate Edition, although specific information varies by platform and retailer.

In a separate announcement, Rockstar confirmed that physical editions of GTA 6 will not include a game disc. Instead, boxed copies will contain a digital download code, reflecting the industry's ongoing shift towards digital distribution.

The company also released new promotional materials, including official cover art, fresh screenshots and additional views of Vice City, offering fans a closer look at the game's setting ahead of its planned November 19 launch.
