Exhumation ordered in 'domestic violence' death case

A court has ordered the exhumation of the body of 18-year-old Misbah, a Surjani Town resident who allegedly died following violence inflicted by her husband, in order to determine the exact cause of death.

Following the court's directive, Police Surgeon Karachi Dr Samia Syed has constituted a special medical board to oversee the exhumation and post-mortem examination.

According to an official notification issued by the police surgeon, the board will be headed by Dr Samia Syed and will include Dr Sadaf Haroon from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Dr Muhammad Yaseen from the Police Surgeon's office, Additional Police Surgeon Dr Kamran Shaikh, along with two assistant mortuary staff members.
