LANDI KOTAL:

Acting on credible intelligence received, Khyber district police raided a house in the jurisdiction of Bara Police Station and rescued a French national who was allegedly being subjected to domestic violence.

The rescued woman, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, 54, a French citizen, was taken into safe custody during the operation. According to initial police findings, she had married a Pakistani man and had been living in Bara since 2014. The couple has five children, one of whom is deaf and mute.

Yasmina told police investigators that she had endured continuous mistreatment at the hands of her husband and was not permitted to leave the house.
