Prime Video’s hit superhero series The Boys has reached a major streaming milestone, officially surpassing 50 billion minutes watched by subscribers since 2020.

Despite mixed audience reactions to its final season, The Boys continues to rank among Prime Video’s most-watched shows worldwide. The series, which premiered in 2019, became one of the platform’s biggest original hits and is now considered one of the most successful superhero and sci-fi shows in streaming history.

Prime Video confirmed that The Boys remained among the platform’s top five most-watched TV shows globally even weeks after the series finale. The latest viewership numbers highlight the show’s long-lasting popularity, with millions of fans continuing to stream previous seasons.

The fifth season of The Boys marked the beginning of the end for the franchise, with Prime Video previously confirming that the upcoming season would be the final chapter. While critics maintained a positive response, the final season received lower audience scores compared with earlier seasons.

The success of The Boys has also helped expand its universe beyond the original series. Prime Video is developing Vought Rising, a prequel spin-off starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Clara Vought. The upcoming series is expected to premiere in 2027.

Another spin-off, Gen V, concluded after two seasons, although creator Eric Kripke has teased that characters from the series could return in future projects.

Before ending, The Boys became Prime Video’s longest-running series after Bosch, strengthening its legacy as one of the streamer’s defining original shows.
