HBO Max is offering a major subscription discount ahead of the highly anticipated return of House of the Dragon season 3, cutting annual plan prices by 40 percent across all three streaming tiers.
The limited-time HBO Max deal applies to the platform’s basic plan with ads, standard plan and premium plan, giving new and returning subscribers a cheaper way to access the streamer’s upcoming content lineup. However, the discount is only available for annual subscriptions, meaning customers must pay for 12 months upfront rather than choosing a monthly payment option.
The price reduction comes just ahead of the House of the Dragon season 3 premiere, as HBO looks to attract more viewers ahead of one of its biggest releases. The Game of Thrones prequel has continued to generate strong interest, with the latest season reportedly earning high critic scores ahead of its launch.
Beyond House of the Dragon, HBO Max is also preparing for other major releases, including the upcoming Harry Potter television series, which is expected to expand the platform’s fantasy and franchise offerings.
The streaming service has seen continued growth in recent years, with Warner Bros. Discovery reporting that HBO Max surpassed 140 million subscribers. The company has also projected further subscriber increases as it expands its original programming and global reach.
The HBO Max annual subscription sale is available until July 15, giving fans a limited window to secure the discounted pricing before the offer ends. With major shows returning and new projects on the way, the platform is using the promotion to strengthen its position in the competitive streaming market.
