At 'Unspoken', emotions speak louder than words

Pakistani visual artist Nazarul Islam set to unveil his latest solo exhibition

Pakistani visual artist Nazar ul Islam is set to unveil his latest solo exhibition, Unspoken, at Sanat Initiative, inviting viewers to reflect on human emotions, social realities and the experiences that often remain beyond words.

Nazar's artistic journey began at the Centre of Excellence in Art & Design (CEAD), Over the years, he has held numerous exhibitions across Pakistan and has represented the country in several international group shows. Most recently, his work received recognition in Belfast, United Kingdom, further expanding his presence on the global art stage.

Speaking about his work, Nazar said his art is rooted in the exploration of human emotions, inner states and social issues.

"Human emotions, inner state and social issues are presented in my work. Those who see my artworks pay attention to their own lives and are often forced to think," he said.

The artist also highlighted the importance of exhibitions as learning spaces for emerging creatives.

Nazar noted that themes of discrimination and race also appear in his work, often through references to contemporary culture.

"Racism exists in many aspects of our daily lives. If you look closely at my work, you will see that I have also introduced elements of pop culture into it," he said.

Through Unspoken, the artist invites audiences to engage with stories, emotions and social realities that are often felt deeply but rarely expressed aloud.

The exhibition opens with a reception on June 16 and will continue until June 25, 2026.
