Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, sharing details of his health battle during the final episodes of Clarkson’s Farm Season 5.

The former Top Gear presenter disclosed the diagnosis while speaking with Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper in the Prime Video series. During the conversation, Clarkson told them, “I’ve got cancer.”

When Cooper asked where the cancer was located, Clarkson responded, “Where it is is of no concern of anybody. I’ve known since May.”

Clarkson explained that he had recently undergone medical tests after visiting a doctor and having a biopsy. He said the cancer had been identified as “aggressive”, but stressed that it was detected at an early stage.

“I was praying we could get the harvest done, and then I could go and get some treatment, but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle,” Clarkson said, referring to the timing of his treatment and farming commitments.

The television personality also outlined the next steps in his care, revealing that surgery was expected within weeks. “I’m not daft, it’s going to be in about two weeks, maybe three. I’ll have to go and have an operation, and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your body’s out of action for a little while,” he said.

Later in the programme, Clarkson reflected on his treatment journey from a hospital bed. He revealed that “some of the treatment” had “gone awry” and added, “What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn’t, I won’t.”

Before the release of the final Season 5 episodes, Clarkson also shared what he described on Instagram as “somber news”, warning viewers that the episodes would be “a difficult watch” and “really, really difficult”.
