Only Murders in the Building season 6 adds David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan and Jodie Whittaker to cast lineup

Hulu's Only Murders in the Building has added David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Jodie Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis and Kathryn Hunter to its season 6 cast.

The actors will appear in recurring roles in the upcoming instalment of the comedy mystery series, which is currently filming in the United Kingdom. The new additions join previously announced guest stars including Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, Sharon Horgan, Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi and Lesley Nicol.

Season 6 will take the series outside the United States for the first time. The story follows Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) as they leave New York for London to investigate a new mystery.

Tennant is best known for playing the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctor in Doctor Who and recently appeared in Disney+'s Rivals and Netflix film The Thursday Murder Club. Coughlan gained international recognition through Bridgerton and Derry Girls, while Whittaker made history as the first woman to lead Doctor Who.

Broadbent, who portrayed Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter film series, joins fellow Harry Potter alumna Hunter, who played Arabella Figg in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Ayoade is known for his BAFTA-winning role as Maurice Moss in The IT Crowd, while Lukis has recently appeared in films including The Boys in the Boat and Joy.

Only Murders in the Building was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman and is produced by 20th Television. Executive producers for season 6 include Hoffman, Martin, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan.

A release date for season 6 has not yet been announced.
