ISLAMABAD:

A one-day training workshop on mobile journalism, digital storytelling and documentary filmmaking was organised at the PNCA, Islamabad, under the National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition 2026.

The training brought together 60 young participants from across Pakistan, providing them with practical skills and knowledge to create compelling tourism content using smartphones. The initiative sought to empower emerging storytellers to document and promote Pakistan's rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, tourism infrastructure, natural beauty and human-centred narratives through innovative digital media.

Organised by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), the workshop combined expert instruction with hands-on learning opportunities. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of mobile documentary filmmaking, including topic selection and historical research, mobile cinematography for heritage documentation, ethical tourism practices, sound recording and interview techniques, editing short documentary films, voice-over production, music integration, and content optimization for digital platforms.

The training curriculum was developed and delivered by experts of digital content creation, drawing upon their extensive experience in media development, digital storytelling, journalism training, and strategic communications. The workshop combined theoretical learning with practical demonstrations, enabling participants to understand how compelling tourism narratives can be created using accessible mobile technologies.
