Sebastian Stan is reportedly set to join Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II in a surprising new villain role, according to a rumour reported by MovieWeb, citing industry insider Jeff Sneider via The Insneider. The update suggests that Stan will not be playing Harvey Dent as previously speculated, but instead take on the role of Victor Zsasz.

The character, a brutal and psychologically disturbed serial killer from DC Comics, has never been portrayed in a live-action theatrical Batman film before. While Zsasz has appeared in television adaptations such as Gotham, this would mark his first major cinematic debut within Reeves’ darker Gotham universe.

The rumour also indicates a major casting shift for another key DC character. Former Marvel actor Brian Tyree Henry is reportedly being lined up to play Harvey Dent, the Gotham district attorney who eventually becomes the villain Two-Face. The role was famously portrayed by Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.

Neither Warner Bros. nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed the casting reports, and the studio is expected to keep major details of The Batman Part II under wraps until closer to production updates.

Sebastian Stan, best known for his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has recently expanded his filmography with more dramatic and genre-heavy roles, making him a frequent subject of fan casting discussions for DC projects.

The Batman – Part II, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, remains one of DC’s most anticipated upcoming releases, with fans eagerly awaiting further updates on its expanding roster of Gotham villains.
