FM Dar discusses volatile regional situation, urges dialogue in talks with Egyptian, Turkish counterparts
Egypt FM appreciates Pakistan's mediation efforts, hopes for early understanding

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations on Thursday with his Egyptian and Turkish counterparts, during which they discussed the volatile regional situation and exchanged views on key developments, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
In a post on X, MoFA said the Egyptian FM Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments and stressed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
According to the ministry, Abdelatty appreciated Pakistan’s continued mediation efforts, while both leaders expressed hope that ongoing efforts would lead to an early understanding between the parties and contribute to lasting regional peace and stability.
MOFA said Abdelatty also extended an invitation to the deputy prime minister and foreign minister to attend the upcoming meeting of the Regional Four (R-4) foreign ministers in Egypt later this month, which the DPM/FM accepted.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact, the ministry added.

FM Dar also held talks with Türkiye FM Hakan Fidan and discussed the evolving regional situation and highlighted the importance of dialogue, as well as restraint.
During the interaction, both expressed hope for an early understanding among all parties which would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region, the MOFA press release noted.
"Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual concern and agreed to sustain high-level exchanges to deepen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye," it said.

Earlier, FM Dar underscored the importance of developing a competitive, innovative and sustainable automotive ecosystem.
He stressed that such a system could support economic growth, enhance industrial capacity, generate skilled jobs and advance environmental sustainability through a future-ready automotive sector.

Dar chaired a high-level meeting to review the auto and auto parts policy, with a particular focus on accelerating Pakistan’s transition towards Electric Vehicles (EVs), the Office of the DPM said in a statement.
The committee was briefed on measures to promote EV adoption and strengthen domestic manufacturing.
