Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has ordered an immediate and transparent investigation into the deaths of six family members in Quetta's Wahdat Colony, a case that has drawn widespread public attention across the province.
Following the chief minister's directives, the provincial government has suspended all officials associated with the matter pending the outcome of the inquiry. A formal notification has been issued, and authorities have been instructed to proceed with a comprehensive fact-finding process.
According to preliminary police reports, a man identified as Asif Ali allegedly opened fire on his wife and four children inside their home before reportedly taking his own life. The incident claimed six lives and has left the local community in shock.
Police officials said the deceased were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examinations, while legal proceedings were initiated. Investigators have begun collecting forensic evidence and recording witness statements to determine the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
Chief Minister Bugti directed concerned departments to conduct a professional and unbiased investigation, emphasizing that all aspects of the case must be thoroughly examined. He called for a detailed report to be submitted at the earliest opportunity.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the provincial administration was treating the matter with utmost seriousness and was committed to ensuring that the investigation remains transparent and credible. He noted that every available resource was being utilized to establish the facts.
Rind added that accountability would be ensured wherever necessary and that no individual or institution would be exempt from scrutiny during the investigation process.
Authorities said multiple aspects of the case are under review as investigators work to uncover the motive and circumstances behind one of the most devastating family-related incidents reported in Quetta in recent years. The findings of the inquiry will be made public upon completion.
