Former Superman actor Dean Cain has come under criticism online after responding to a social media post that mocked Supergirl actress Milly Alcock, prompting debate among DC fans and entertainment followers.

The controversy began when an X user shared an image of Alcock in promotional material for the upcoming Supergirl film and questioned a detail about the character's appearance, writing: “Wait... if Supergirl's skin is bulletproof, how does she have ear piercings?” The post highlighted Alcock's earrings in the image.

Another user then replied with a comparison image of Chaka from the 1970s television series Land of the Lost, asking, “And why does she look like this guy?”

Cain, who portrayed Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993 to 1997, responded to the post, writing, “Dang it... I laughed.”

The remark quickly attracted criticism from some social media users, who accused the actor of participating in appearance-based mockery directed at the 26-year-old actress.

The backlash follows Cain's August 2025 announcement that he had joined ICE as a sworn law enforcement officer.

Alcock, meanwhile, has been actively promoting Supergirl ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on June 26.

Speaking during a recent promotional appearance, she acknowledged the pressure surrounding the role, saying, “Of course I’m scared. Of course I want people to like me and the movie. But ultimately, it’s out of my control.”
