Man kills wife, children before taking own life

QUETTA:

A man allegedly shot dead his wife and four children before committing suicide in Quetta, police said on Monday.

According to SHO Burori, Naseebullah, the tragic event occurred in the morning. Preliminary reports indicate that the accused opened fire inside his own home, targeting his wife and four children, all of whom died at the scene.

Police officials identified the victims as including two daughters and two sons. All suffered severe gunshot wounds and could not survive the attack. Following the massacre, the assailant turned the weapon on himself, ending his own life.

Authorities rushed a heavy contingent of police personnel to the site upon receiving the information. The area was cordoned off, and evidence collection has commenced. The bodies were transported to Civil Hospital Quetta, where post-mortem examinations are currently underway in the mortuary.

A spokesperson for Quetta Police stated that the preliminary investigation has not yet revealed the exact causes behind the incident. The motives driving the perpetrator to take such an extreme step remain unknown, and officials have not confirmed whether a domestic dispute or other factors played a role.

Police emphasized that all aspects of the case are being meticulously reviewed.
