No Immunity: 239 cops diagnosed with dengue

LAHORE: As many as 239 city policemen have so far been diagnosed with dengue fever, while  Constable Atta Muhammad of Mujahid Squad died of the disease. Most of the affected policemen, 197, were constables. Also infected were 20 assistant sub inspectors, 12 sub inspectors, seven head constables, two inspectors and a deputy superintendent of police.  These statistics were reported in a meeting at the office of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) on Monday. CCPO Ahmad Raza Tahir directed officials to ensure that all police stations and poilce residences were fumigated at least twice a week.  CCPO Tahir said owners of public swimming pools and service stations had been warned against allowing puddles of water on their premises. He said action would be taken against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. He said a blood donation camp had been set up at the Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines.
