The government has revised the prices of petroleum products, increasing the rates of kerosene oil, light diesel and jet fuel by more than Re1 per litre with immediate effect, according to an official notification issued on Saturday.
The latest revision raised the prices of kerosene oil, light diesel and aviation fuel amid continued fluctuations in global oil markets and rising energy costs. Officials confirmed that the new rates have already come into force across the country.
According to the notification, the price of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs1.71 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs313.44 per litre from the previous Rs311.73.
The government also increased the price of light diesel by Rs1.62 per litre. Following the revision, light diesel will now be sold at Rs275.54 per litre compared to the earlier price of Rs273.92.
Meanwhile, the price of jet fuel used in aircraft has been raised by Rs2.10 per litre. Under the revised rates, jet fuel will now cost Rs332.32 per litre against the previous Rs330.22 per litre.
Officials said all revised fuel prices have been implemented immediately. The increase comes amid ongoing volatility in international oil markets and a broader rise in global energy costs.
