Three suspected terrorists killed in Bannu IBO

BANNU:

Security forces have intensified anti-terrorism efforts in Bannu district amid an uptick in terrorist attacks. A joint operation by Bannu Police and the Peace Committee in areas including Gambar, Sokri, Jhando Khel, and surrounding regions resulted in the killing of three suspected terrorists during an exchange of fire.

After the encounter, security personnel cordoned off the area and continued search and clearance operations.

Tragically, on the way back from the operation, a police armored vehicle met with an accident. Constable Zahinullah, standing outside the vehicle, was critically injured after colliding with a roadside barrier. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The incident has led to tightened security across the district, with increased checking and search operations at various points.

Constable Zahin Ullah's funeral prayer was offered at the Police Lines in Bannu with full state honors. Senior officers, including RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan, DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi, SP Investigation Sajid Mumtaz, and SP Rural Haider Ali, along with a large number of police personnel, attended the ceremony. Floral tributes were laid on the coffin, and police contingents presented a salute to the martyr.

RPO Sajjad Khan described Constable Zahinullah as a valuable asset to the police force whose martyrdom has caused deep sorrow throughout the department.
