'State won't tolerate threats to sovereignty'

ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said strict action will be taken against anyone found supporting or facilitating terrorist activities, adding that the state remains committed to maintaining peace.

Speaking in the National Assembly, he reaffirmed the government's stance against militancy, stating that the BLA is an internationally designated terrorist organization and will be dealt with firmly.

He corrected the record regarding recent some incidents, saying that a week ago, Coast Guard personnel were martyred in a firing incident. Despite the loss, he added, the forces exercised restraint and patience.
