In episode 5 of Euphoria Season 3, titled “This Little Piggy”, Cassie’s growing online notoriety collides with Rue’s increasingly dangerous role as a DEA informant, pushing several characters further into morally fraught territory.
Cassie’s explicit online content business rapidly expands after Brandon Fontaine promotes her account, gaining her thousands of new subscribers overnight.
Managed by Maddy, Cassie films increasingly provocative videos while also sending large sums of money to Nate in an attempt to help settle his debts.
Cassie simultaneously adopts controversial “manosphere” talking points during podcast appearances, declaring, “American men are treated like second-class citizens.” During another appearance, she tells a stunned host: “If a man says he wants a girl who can cook or clean, he might as well be screaming the N-word.”
Maddy warns Cassie that Nate is exploiting her success, but remains determined to capitalise on her growing fame. The episode features a surreal fantasy sequence in which Cassie imagines herself as a towering celebrity figure stomping through Los Angeles while helicopters attempt to stop her.
Elsewhere, Rue’s position within Alamo’s criminal operation becomes increasingly precarious. Following the robbery involving Laurie’s crew, suspicion intensifies around Rue as Alamo and Bishop begin questioning her loyalty. Big Eddy, already hospitalised after being shot, appears to meet a gruesome fate as tensions within the organisation escalate.
The episode also revisits Rue’s complicated relationship with Jules, whose affair with Ellis continues to strain their connection. Meanwhile, Nate briefly enjoys financial relief from Cassie’s payments before suffering another violent attack at the hands of Nas’s associates.
The episode closes on a cliffhanger as Rue is buried up to her neck by Alamo’s men before he charges towards her on horseback, leaving her fate uncertain ahead of next week’s instalment.
Episode 6, titled "Stand Still and See," is scheduled to release on Sunday, May 17 at 9pm ET/PT on HBO and Max.
