Angelina Jolie’s long-discussed plan to leave Los Angeles and spend more time abroad could signal a major lifestyle shift not only for the Oscar-winning actress, but also for her six children.

The actress recently listed her historic Los Feliz estate for nearly $30 million, reigniting attention around her previous comments about eventually moving away from Hollywood once her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026.

Jolie has repeatedly suggested that Los Angeles was never intended to be her permanent home, explaining in past interviews that custody arrangements following her divorce from Brad Pitt largely kept her based in California while raising their children.

For her children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, the move could represent a transition away from the intense spotlight of Hollywood life and toward a more international upbringing. Jolie has often spoken about wanting her children to experience different cultures and maintain strong global perspectives, shaped partly by her humanitarian work and years spent traveling internationally.

Cambodia is expected to play a major role in Jolie’s future plans. The actress has said she intends to spend significant time there after leaving Los Angeles, noting the country holds deep personal importance because it is where she adopted her eldest son, Maddox.

Reports also suggest Jolie’s older children are supportive of the relocation plans, especially as most of them are now adults and increasingly independent. Several of the children have already pursued lives outside traditional Hollywood culture, including humanitarian work, fashion, filmmaking, and university studies abroad.

The potential move may also further distance the family from Brad Pitt, whose relationship with several of the children has reportedly remained strained in recent years following the couple’s lengthy legal battles.

While Jolie is not expected to completely step away from acting or filmmaking, insiders say she has become increasingly disillusioned with Hollywood and eager for a quieter, more private life centered around family and international projects.

Online reactions to Jolie’s possible departure have been mixed, with some fans saying the decision has been expected for years given her public comments about wanting to live abroad once her children were grown.
