“Princess,” the upcoming romantic comedy starring Lucy Hale and Adam Demos, has officially wrapped production ahead of its international sales launch at the Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety.

International distributor K5 Intl. will introduce the film to buyers at Cannes with newly released first-look imagery from the project.

Directed by Lina Roessler, “Princess” is described as a canine-themed romantic comedy inspired by the playful style of classic 1980s and 1990s rom-coms. The story follows a young woman who believes she has finally met the perfect man, only to discover that his fiercely loyal bulldog, Princess, has a long history of sabotaging his relationships.

According to K5 Intl., the film combines screwball comedy with emotional storytelling and ensemble-driven performances. The project has drawn comparisons to romantic comedies including Sweet Home Alabama, Monster-in-Law and Anyone but You.

The cast also includes Rickey Thompson, Olivia Ponton, Vernon Davis and Dot-Marie Jones.

The screenplay was written by Frank Hannah and Christopher Tuffin. Producers include Tuffin, Amanda Delaplaine, Ari Novak and Renee Tab.

Deadline first reported that “Princess” had completed production ahead of its Cannes market launch.
