Actor and host Juggun Kazim has spoken out against the invasion of privacy faced by public figures, stressing that celebrities deserve the same respect and personal space as any other individual.
In a recent interview with Vasay Chaudhry, Juggun discussed her personal life and career, with the conversation initially touching on lighter topics such as jobs and entrepreneurship. She shared her preference for acting and hosting over other professional paths.
The discussion later turned to a recent incident during a difficult period in her life, prompting her to strongly criticise individuals who disregard personal boundaries and record celebrities without consent.
Born Syeda Mehrbano Kazmi, Juggun is a Pakistani-Canadian actress and television host known for her work in both Canada and Pakistan, as well as her modelling career.
She said such behaviour should not be normalised, emphasising that celebrities are also human beings who experience pain and deserve privacy and dignity.
She further noted that it is concerning how public figures are often approached for photographs regardless of time or place, adding that she tries to avoid such situations whenever possible. She said people often overlook that celebrities also have families and personal lives that require respect.
Juggun was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2023 in recognition of her contributions to the entertainment industry. She has also received the Best Supporting Actress award for Meri Unsuni Kahani at the Pakistan Media Awards.
