Florence Hunt, Isla Fisher and Colin Firth cast in Bare as filming begins in London
Florence Hunt is set to lead the cast of Bare, the feature directorial debut from filmmaker Lorna Tucker, with production now underway in London, according to a report by Variety
The project marks Tucker’s transition from documentary filmmaking to narrative cinema and is based on her own memoir.
Hunt, known for her role in Bridgerton, will star alongside Isla Fisher and Academy Award winner Colin Firth. The ensemble cast also includes a range of emerging talents, reflecting the film’s focus on raw and character-driven storytelling.
Described as a coming-of-age survival drama, Bare follows a young runaway navigating life on the streets of London, where she forms connections that help her rediscover identity and resilience. The story draws heavily from Tucker’s lived experiences, aiming to present an authentic and emotionally grounded narrative centred on themes of belonging, trauma and recovery.
The film is produced by Consortium Pictures, with global sales to be handled by Noora Films, which plans to introduce the project to international buyers at the Cannes market. Behind the camera, the production brings together an experienced creative team, including cinematographer Seamus McGarvey and casting director Des Hamilton.
Tucker, previously recognised for her documentary work including Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist, described Bare as a deeply personal project focused on survival and human connection. Producers have also highlighted the film’s social relevance, particularly its exploration of homelessness and marginalisation.
With filming now in progress, Bare is expected to attract significant industry attention as it combines a high-profile cast with a personal and socially driven narrative.
