Grisly discovery: five found dead
At least five people were found dead in separate incidents in different parts of city. A 50-year-old man was discovered dead in his house on Haider Road.
The body, believed to be around two days old, was later identified as that of Iqbal. Police shifted the body to a morgue after completing initial legal formalities.
In another incident in Harbanspura, a 35-year-old woman, Iffat Bibi, died after her dupatta got entangled in a motorcycle chain, causing her to suffer a severe head injury. She was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Separately, a 22-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train near Hamdard Chowk in the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate area.
The deceased, Tayyab, was a resident of Khanqah Dogran in Sheikhupura district.
On Lytton Road, rescuers found the decomposed body of an unidentified man, estimated to be around 35 years old.
Officials said the deceased appeared to be a drug addict, though his identity could not be ascertained.
In another case, the body of a 45-year-old unidentified man was found near Singhpura Mandi in the Mughalpura area.
According to initial assessments, he is believed to have died due to excessive drug use.
Police said investigations were under way to determine the cause of death in each case.
