Zara Larsson reflects on education after Yale performance, reveals she didn’t finish high school
The Swedish singer discussed her experience after performing at the Ivy League institution as part of her wider tour

Zara Larsson has spoken candidly about her education following a recent performance at Yale University, sharing that she did not complete high school and sometimes wishes she had pursued further studies.
The Swedish singer discussed her experience in a TikTok video after performing at the Ivy League institution as part of her wider tour.
Reflecting on the moment with humour, Zara Larsson said, “Uh huh. Yeah, I went to Yale. I did. Yeah. No, it was great. Hmm. I went there to sing. To sing? Yeah, once. So technically, I did go to Yale.”

Larsson explained that her college appearances are tied to financial considerations linked to touring. “I signed that a long time ago because I needed to pay for my real tour cause it’s so expensive to tour,” she said, adding that she honours commitments once agreed.
Despite her success, the singer acknowledged mixed feelings about her academic background. “I wish I went to college. A part of me wish I went to college because I didn’t even finish high school,” she said.
She added, “I hate saying that because it doesn’t match my brain. Like, I’m a smart girl, but someone has to entertain the educated, and that’s my job, and I take that seriously.”
Larsson began her career at a young age, which contributed to her decision not to complete formal education.
However, she noted that performing at universities has been a positive experience, stating, “It’s actually been so fun, and everyone’s having a good time.”
She also joked about embracing the experience by wearing university-branded clothing in public. “Best believe I will wear this in the airports and kind of everywhere,” she said.
Viewers responded positively to her openness, with many suggesting that returning to education remains an option, while others highlighted that intelligence is not solely defined by academic qualifications.
