Murder staged as electrocution and later suicide

DIJKOT:

A 23-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by five individuals at a factory, who then attempted to cover up the murder by staging it as an electrocution and later a suicide, police said on Friday.

According to the FIR registered at Airport Police Station, complainant Sajjad Hussain Shah, a cement trader from Sargodha, stated that his brother, Iqbal Shah, worked at a factory near Seventh Mile on Jhang Road.

He had a dispute with the accused, including Inayat Shah, a resident of Chiniot.

Police said the suspects assaulted Iqbal Shah and opened fire on him, causing fatal injuries. After his death, they allegedly changed his clothes and claimed he had died from an electric shock.

The accused later transported the body to Sillanwali in Sargodha and repeated the same claim.

However, when the family prepared the body for burial, they discovered bullet wounds.

The complainant alleged that the suspects fabricated the electrocution story and later concocted a suicide narrative to conceal the murder.

SHO Airport Police Station Saqib Riaz Mahis took the body into custody, conducted a post-mortem, and handed it over to the heirs.

A case has been registered under relevant sections (302, 201, 148, 149), with one suspect taken into custody while raids are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
