2 held in kidnapping, ransom case

LAHORE:

Nishtar Colony Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.

The victim, identified as Akram, was lured a few days ago by the prime suspect, Waqar, on the pretext of finalising a property deal.

He was taken to Bhullar village, where the suspect, along with accomplices, allegedly held him captive. Police said the victim was subjected to torture during captivity, while the suspects also recorded compromising videos to blackmail him.

The accused later extorted Rs350,000 through cash, online transfers and ATM withdrawals before abandoning the victim on Ashiana Road and fleeing the scene.

The looted cash and two mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
