Man shot dead in suspected robbery

RAWALPINDI:

A 30-year-old man was shot dead during a suspected robbery at a grocery store on Adiala Road in Sadar Beruni police limits on Thursday. The assailants fled the scene, and a search operation has been launched.

According to officials, It remains unclear whether the killing occurred during a robbery or if other motives were involved.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that reports of gunfire were received from Shahpur Stop on Adiala Road, prompting emergency teams to respond. Upon arrival, they found that the victim had already succumbed to his injuries.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told rescuers that unidentified suspects attempted to rob the grocery store and opened fire when confronted. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Abdul Malik, died at the scene after being struck by a bullet. A murder case has been registered.
