Arms licences get fixed five-year validity
The government has introduced a new policy regarding the renewal of arms licences in the country. Arms licences will now have to be renewed exactly five years after the date they were originally issued or last renewed.
A NADRA spokesperson said the Ministry of Interior instructed the introduction of a new validity system for federal arms licences to facilitate citizens.
Under the previous system, federally issued arms licences expired on December 31 each year. This resulted in a large number of renewal applications being submitted simultaneously, causing processing delays for some applicants.
