TIRAH:

Four construction workers were abducted on Monday from the remote Rajgal Kokikhel area of Tirah Valley. According to officials, the labourers were working on a road construction project when armed men abducted them at gunpoint and took them to an undisclosed location.

The workers were identified as excavator operators Haleem Shah and Jannat Khan, both residents of Zhob district in Balochistan. The other two labourers were Ehsanullah and Khan. Ehsanullah was also a resident of Zhob.

The incident triggered fear in the area, with local residents expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation in the remote parts of Tirah Valley. Security agencies and the local administration later initiated a search operation to recover the abducted workers.

Meanwhile, the incident drew a strong reaction with local elders and political leaders urging the government to ensure effective security arrangements for ongoing development projects in Tirah Valley.

They stressed the need to provide protection to contractors and labourers, warning that failure to do so could halt development activities, as contractors may be forced to abandon work.
