Traders, families robbed near Lahore

Armed gangs looted several households and individuals, allegedly making off with cash, gold jewellery and valuables worth millions of rupees.
According to police sources, a gang of eight armed robbers stormed a locality in Gajjan Singh Wala, where they held four families hostage after scaling the walls of their houses.
The suspects looted cash and valuables from multiple homes, including Rs200,000 from one house and gold jewellery worth nearly Rs10 million, along with cash and other items, from another.
They also snatched mobile phones and cash from other victims before fleeing.
In a separate incident near Attari Karam Singh, three armed robbers intercepted two motorcyclists and deprived them of mobile phones and Rs50,000 cash. The victims were reportedly on their way to attend a wedding.
Meanwhile, in Kanganpur, two armed men assaulted a labourer and snatched goods worth Rs190,000 from agricultural land near Baray Wala Khoh.
In another incident near Araiyan Wala, robbers subjected two traders to violence and threats before looting over Rs833,000 in cash.
Police have registered separate cases on the complaints of the victims, but no arrests have been made so far.
Residents have urged Punjab authorities, including the chief minister and inspector general of police, to take immediate action to curb rising crime and ensure public safety.
