The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man allegedly working as an agent for India's intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Addressing a news conference in Muzaffarabad, AJK IGP Liaqat Ali Malik said the suspect, identified as Irfan, was taken into custody in Rawalakot.
"He had been recording videos and taking photographs of sensitive installations, which were intended to be shared with hostile elements," the IGP said.
The police chief revealed that unscrupulous elements were attempting to transmit sensitive information across borders, adding that the RAW agent had been targeting innocent people as part of his activities.
He emphasised that the sanctity and security of AJK's territory would be protected at all costs. The AJK police chief said that the suspect had been operating through social media platforms.
