Pre-flood response drill conducted

The Rescue 1122, in collaboration with the district administration, conducted its first pre-flood mock exercise at the District Sports Complex to prepare for potential emergencies.
The event featured various emergency response camps, including rescue, health, livestock, civil defence, agriculture, and municipal services.
An emergency control room and information centre were also established to ensure effective communication during flood situations.
Officials highlighted the importance of coordination and preparedness, noting that during last year's floods, Rescue 1122 had evacuated over 11,900 people and more than 1,000 livestock.
The exercise aimed to test equipment readiness, improve rescue skills, and strengthen inter-departmental coordination.
