007: First Light release date confirmed but no Xbox Game Pass launch planned
007: First Light launches May 27 on PS5, Xbox and PC, but no Game Pass release has been confirmed by IO Interactive

007: First Light is set to launch on May 27, 2026, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but there is currently no indication the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass at release. Neither IO Interactive nor Microsoft has announced any subscription service agreement tied to the launch.
The upcoming title is being released as a full-price retail game. While a version for Nintendo Switch 2 is in development, it has been delayed until later in the year.
No partnerships with subscription platforms such as Game Pass or PlayStation Plus have been confirmed alongside its release plans.
The absence of a Game Pass launch has drawn attention from Xbox players, particularly given Microsoft’s recent strategy of securing high-profile third-party titles for its subscription service.
IO Interactive’s previous Hitman World of Assassination trilogy has appeared on Game Pass in the past, which may have contributed to speculation around a similar arrangement for 007: First Light.
However, IO Interactive operates as an independent studio after regaining its independence from Square Enix in 2017.
This means there is no automatic pathway for its titles to be included in Microsoft’s subscription ecosystem. Typically, Game Pass deals are announced well in advance of release, and no such agreement has been disclosed for this title.
Recent announcements suggest a stronger promotional alignment with PlayStation. A limited edition DualSense controller themed around 007: First Light is set to go on sale from April 17, priced at $84.99. The hardware tie-in indicates a marketing partnership but does not affect platform availability.
007: First Light is described as an origin story following a young James Bond during an early mission. The game draws from Ian Fleming’s original works rather than film adaptations and is expected to focus on stealth-action gameplay.
