PTI hails Pakistan's mediation role
Hopes Gulf crisis will be resolved through talks

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary (CIS) Sheikh Waqas Akram said that although the talks between Iran and the United States have ended in Islamabad without a final agreement, optimism should not be lost, as both sides acknowledged making significant progress and only a few key issues remain unresolved.
In a statement issued by PTI Central Media Department (CMD) on Sunday, Akram said that the recent talks held in Islamabad between the US and Iran have ended without a final agreement.
He said that while this may seem disappointing at first glance, it is important to note that both sides have acknowledged making considerable progress, with only a few points of difference still remaining.
"In such situations, optimism should not be lost. Diplomatic processes take time, and even reaching a stage where only a handful of issues remain unresolved is, in itself, a positive step forward," he said, adding that dialogue must continue, as it remains the only sustainable path to lasting peace.
PTI CIS noted that Pakistan, as a state, played an important role in facilitating a ceasefire environment and hosting these talks. "This effort reflects the country's potential to act as a bridge for peace in a region that has long suffered from instability and conflict," he maintained.
Akram further stated that both countries have expressed confidence on Pakistan while appreciating its efforts for reaching ceasefire and hosting high-level talks which places Pakistan in a position to continue mediation process and host another round of talks in Islamabad in future.
"The US, Iran and all other countries observing ceasefire for fourteen days should continue with a committed ceasefire to give appropriate time to diplomacy and dialogue to resolve complex differences of opinion," he added.
PTI CIS went on to say that the friendly countries of Pakistan including China, Turkiye, Egypt and others played an important role in the past days in supporting Pakistan's initiatives therefore these countries and other regional, European countries must continue playing their crucial role with more dedication to save the region from falling again to a devastating war.
"PTI believes that Pakistan must continue on this path of mediation and peaceful engagement. The principle of "yes to peace, no to war," as emphasized during the tenure of Imran Khan, should remain the foundation of our foreign policy," he added.
Akram said that at a time when tensions in the region remain high, it is crucial for Pakistan to stay away from any armed conflict. This approach not only serves the national interest but also represents the wishes of the people of Pakistan, who seek stability, economic progress, and peace.
"Pakistan must continue to promote dialogue, reduce tensions, and play a constructive role in bringing parties together - because in the end, peace is always the stronger choice," he concluded.
