PESHAWAR:

A tragic incident occurred in the Touheedabad Chowk area of Yakatoot, Peshawar, where a minor dispute on social media spiraled into a deadly armed confrontation.

What began as heated exchanges over TikTok videos and comments between two groups quickly escalated into indiscriminate firing. In the exchange of gunfire, a young man identified as Irfan was killed.

A total of seven people were injured in the violence, including Sohail, Daud, Muhammad Sani, Farman, Noor Khan, and Adnan. Several innocent passersby were also caught in the crossfire.

Eyewitnesses reported that the sudden burst of firing caused widespread panic in the area, with residents scrambling for cover to save their lives.

Upon receiving information, police from Agha Mir Jani Shah police station rushed to the scene and promptly shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

According to police officials, an investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. Initial reports suggest the bloody clash stemmed from a dispute that originated on TikTok. Raids are underway to arrest the suspects involved.

This unfortunate event once again highlights the bitter reality that even trivial arguments on social media, if not handled with tolerance and good sense, can lead to devastating and irreversible consequences.
