Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to review the latest regional developments.
During the call, the two leaders underscored the urgent need to ensure peace and stability and to de-escalate tensions in the region. They also agreed to remain in close contact, according to a post shared on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Pakistan has been trying to bring an end to the war in the Gulf which started on February 28 after the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran.
Iran later strongly retaliated and targetted both Israel as well as US bases in Arab countries including Saudi Arabia.
