Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been renewed for a third season, with the announcement arriving immediately after the conclusion of season 2.
The new instalment, titled Golden Land Arc, is scheduled to premiere in October 2027. The confirmation follows the broadcast of the season 2 finale, which is now available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
Season 2 premiered on January 16, 2026, and concluded on March 27, 2026, with a total of 10 episodes. This followed the first season, which aired from late 2023 to early 2024 and ran for 28 episodes.
The reduced episode count for the second season reflects production adjustments as the series continues to expand its audience.
According to the official description, the upcoming storyline will focus on a new threat. “Awaiting is the last and strongest of the Seven Sages of Destruction, the Golden Land’s Macht,” the description states, outlining the direction for the next chapter.
The announcement comes amid broader developments in the anime industry, including the confirmation of Jujutsu Kaisen season 4.
Frieren’s source material, created by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, is currently on an indefinite hiatus.
Reports also note that the manga was removed from the Manga ONE platform following a controversy involving publisher Shogakukan earlier in March. Despite this, the series is expected to continue at a later stage.
