HBL PSL 11: Lahore Qalandars set 200-run target against Hyderabad Kingsmen

Lahore Qalandars set a challenging target of 200 in their 20 overs against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, currently being played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Choosing to bat first, the Qalandars were off to a solid start with Fakhar Zaman leading the charge, scoring 53 off 39 balls, including 10 fours. Mohammad Naeem also contributed significantly, making 30 off 19 balls with 1 six and 4 boundaries.

Abdullah Shafique’s innings was cut short when he was run out for 4, while Parvez Hossain Emon scored 14 before falling to the bowling of Meredith. Haseebullah Khan remained unbeaten at 40 from 28 balls, adding crucial runs at the tail end of the innings.

Sikandar Raza was in explosive form, blasting 24 off just 10 balls, while Asif Ali contributed a quick 9 off 6 balls before being dismissed by Mohammad Ali. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi finished strong, remaining not out on 12 from just 2 balls.

Kingsmen are making their PSL debut today. While this match represents one of the sternest tests for the debutants, it also provides them with an opportunity to lay down an early marker.

This time, the HBL PSL 11 is being played without spectators due to ongoing austerity measures amid the regional situation.

Under the revised plan, the tournament will be staged in only two cities, Karachi and Lahore, while the opening ceremony was also cancelled.
