Perez Hilton is opening up about a deeply personal experience he says changed his life.
The celebrity blogger revealed that a recent 21-day hospital stay not only tested him physically, but also led to what he describes as a profound spiritual awakening. Calling the ordeal both the “worst and best” experience of his life, Hilton said it ultimately reshaped his beliefs.
According to Hilton, the hospitalization stemmed from taking medication on an empty stomach, which led to serious complications including an ulcer, perforation, and sepsis.
While recovering, he says something unexpected happened.
“One of the most special things about this experience is that God presented himself to me,” Hilton shared in an emotional video, describing the moment as clear, real, and impossible to dismiss.

Although he was raised in the Catholic faith, Hilton admitted he had never truly believed until now. He said the experience left him feeling certain and deeply grateful.
The 48-year-old, who is a father of three, added that the moment has inspired him to make changes in his life, including taking his children to church and reconnecting with his faith.
Hilton described the encounter as “miraculous” and said it has given him a renewed sense of purpose as he continues to recover.
As he focuses on healing, he says he’s taking things day by day, with gratitude at the center of it all.
