Guard kills man at Tarbela Dam

HARIPUR:

A man was killed after being shot by a WAPDA security officer in the Tarbela Dam lake area.

According to sources, Sher Aslam and a companion, residents of Mohat village in Ghazi, were traveling by boat on Tarbela Lake for work-related purposes when the boat engine suddenly stopped.

The boat drifted toward the Tarbela Dam area due to the wind. At that point, a WAPDA security officer posted in the Tarbela Dam area opened fire on the boat.

Sher Aslam was shot and killed, while his companion survived by hiding behind the boat engine.

The body was transferred to the Ghazi Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination, and after completion of legal formalities, it was handed over to the heirs.

Ghazi police have registered a case against the WAPDA security officer, Noor Muhammad.
