Off Track: Railway workers rally against ‘torture’

MULTAN: Scores of railway employees staged a protest demonstration against the railway head constable for allegedly torturing a worker during salary distribution on Saturday. The protestors, led by divisional president Prem Union, Vaasiq Khan, chairman Rauf Rashid, Zahid Hussain and labour union chairman Malik Bashir staged a protest outside the DS Railway office against Railway head constable Saifullah for torturing a worker during salary distribution. The protesters chanted slogans against the Railway authorities as well as the police for not registering a case.  Later, DS Railway Abdul Razzaq Shah met the labour leaders and promised that strict action would be taken against the accused.
