Policeman injured by kite string

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to ensure strict enforcement of the ban on kite flying.
The orders were issued after a police constable was injured by kite string in the North Cantonment area.
The chief minister expressed regret over the violation of the ban and emphasised the need for strict action to prevent such dangerous practices.
She said turning kite flying into a deadly activity was deeply unfortunate and stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure public safety.
The police registered a case of attempted murder after the incident.
According to the police, Constable Wahab was on his way from home for duty when he was injured.
The police said the kite string wrapped around his neck and hand, leaving him injured. The official later reached a nearby hospital for treatment. The area police initiated efforts to identify those involved in kite flying in the locality.
